As many of you prepare your DFFL lineups for Week 3 of the season, it may come as a surprise to some that fMLB is actually still a thing. We’re down to the nitty-gritty of the season, with just 4 teams remaining. fNASCAR is winding down too, for the record. With that thought in mind, I figured it’d be a good time to take a look at the DFFL Champions Cup standings. I know, for whatever reason, this is a hotly debated topic. There’s realistically zero impact on financial standing, no trophy (yet), etc. This is just something I came up with bored one day, and seemed fun.
However, I would like to progress it forward, and make it more of a part of the fabric of the DFFL. It’s fun to have multiple contests and continue to evolve as more of a competitive social club, than say, a mundane re-draft fantasy league. We’re better than that. I’ll continue to update the current Cup as is, and I’m all ears for suggestions to update and how to improve.
So, let’s take a look at where things stand.
2016 DFFL Champions Cup Standings

The table is inclusive of Mike’s Majors Contest updates. I am sure no one remembers, but before the Majors Contest, Shontz actually held a lead on Curlis for the #1 spot. With Curlis winning the Majors Contest, Shontz has now dropped to 2nd.
The only other movement post-Majors was actually Deppen dropping below Rat, which is damn funny. It’s quite honestly a little weird to see Rat not in 8th for something.
Below is the full breakdown of the Cup, as well as shows the remaining points available. Obviously this is incredibly back-weighted, so there’s still lots of points to be had. No one is mathematically eliminated, yet. But, with a poor fNASCAR and/or fMLB finish, Rat and Deppen will likely be eliminated from the chase for the Cup sooner rather than later.
